The new rates are effective immediately, raising P300 from $7.20 to $7.50.

Aryty.com is still a great place to buy load as they do not tack on service fees and load is delivered very fast. While some will say that these rate increases are an Aryty scam, its not the case. Aryty simply needs to adjust for the fluctuations in currency between the US and the Philippines.

India Telecom Cap Number Portability Rate

India’s telecom regulator TRAI has now announced a cap on the price a subscriber would have to pay for shifting to a new operator while retaining her existing number. The maximum amount it will cost to port your phone number from one carrier to another will be Rs. 19. These new rates will go into effect Dec. 31st 2009.

Time to buy some more load from Globe. Surfing the internet is great on the new HTC Magic phone running the Android operating system from Google. Globe makes the new HTC Magic available in the Philippines and it’s free at GPlan or GFlex 7000 in Megamall Globe Telecom Business Center (4/F Cyberzone, Building B).
